With the Holidays approaching and babies being born I've been in a bit of a crafty mood. These are a few I've completed in the last few days. ( Excuse the pictures I took them with my phone)
With my little niece coming I made all of these hair flowers, bows and feathers. They were all really easy and quick too!
This is the first one. At Jo Anns there satin fabric was on sale for 1.99 a yard so I bought 4 in about 1/8 of a yard of 15 colors and a huge bag of multi colored feathers and used a coupon or 40% off, and a lrg strand of tiny pearls ( fake obviously) in their $1 bin and it came to $7! Ya I made all of the above and I could probably do that all over again about 2 more times with all the left overs I have. ( Tells you how much you can make selling these for how much they do)
I'll tell you a quick How to for each of these::
:: Silk/ Satin Flowers:: REALLY EASY::
1: Each flower varied so I could have a little different look to each. I cut 4-8 circles from about 3 - 2 1/2 inches down.
2: Then with a lighter I burned the edges and they automatically curl up. ( I was always nervous about this step but it was REALLY easy!)
3: Then I hot glued ear layer together largest to smallest.
4. I added a dot of glue to the middle and placed three little pearls at the center. ( personally I liked this best. It seems to look the best with any color. If you don't like it you can always do buttons, gems, etc.
5: Now I didn't do this on all of them but I added a few feathers to the back of this one.
6: I added felt to the bottom ( Just glue it again)
7: Add an ALIGATOR clip. These are best because theyll hold the best with the teeth. ( you can get them at Roberts Craft store 10 pc. for $1.99 and they ALWAYS have their 40% coupon atleast up by the front check out ;0) )
And WaLLAh!
Then this one I just came up with but I kind of LOVE it!
Feather Clip::
1. Pick out the feather you like.
2. Cut a Strand of the beads you want to add. This one I did bead by bead but it SUCKED lol!
3. Add a strip of felt to the bottom, ( TIP:: Dont apply hot glue straight to the feather add it to whatever your sticking on the feather. The feather is too delecate to handle the heat, Itll burn it up.)
Apron:: I always see these but they are SO dang expensive! But I'm cooking most every meal now so I really wanted an apron. NO face because I had NO make up lol Just being honest!
My mom taught me how to sew when I was little just the basics and I've never liked patterns because I'm not a patient crafter! lol When I was 15 I needed a halloween costume and found a HUGE spool of HOT PINK fabric at a yard sale. I saw it right then and there I would be a HOT PINK princess LOL!
My mom said it was too big of a job and I could try but she'd by me a costume if I wanted. Ha Thanks MOM! ;o) So I went upstairs with the sewing maching, sizzors. old jewelery ( I cut up) and a measuring tape. 3 1/2 hours later I came down in my PERFECT! AMAZING PUFFY princess dress. My mom was thouroughly impressed lol ( its one of those memories I wanted to get down unfortunately I can't find a picture of it but I'm still looking!) Anyway back to the apron::
Since I didn't have a pattern I dont want to really sit here and try to explain what the heck I did! LOL! But thx for reading the story ;o)
HALLOWEEN STACK CRAFT::
I had 3 2x4x6ish pieces of wood from other crafts and jaerick wanted to paint. So I took pipe cleaners, black paper, paint and glow in the dark clear ( for fun). And its pretty self explanitory from there ;o)
Enjoy! Happy Crafting!
